Jay-Z will be the first rapper to perform at Carnegie Hall in New York

Jay-Z will become the first rapper to sing at the famous Carnegie Hall in New York with two charitable activities for the education of young people without resources, the organization announced in a statement.

The hip-hop star will take the stage is the Temple of Music New York the next 6 and 7 February, when offered two separate concerts to raise funds for two organizations that provide scholarships to young people who can not afford their studies in the Great Apple.

"It is every artist's dream to act in a place as legendary as the Carnegie Hall," said Brooklyn.

Jay-Z said "it will be an amazing night because I can use my art and my talent to help the next generation of artists, entrepreneurs and big thinkers."

For its part, the artistic director of Carnegie Hall, Clive Gillinson, said, "will be a pleasure to welcome Jay-Z, who will join a long list of popular artists who have performed here throughout history."

All proceeds from the two concerts will be given to the group United Way and the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation, the latter created by rapper under his real name to give an opportunity for young people who want to study but can not afford the university , the rapper himself did not attend.

The tickets for performances at Carnegie Hall will go on sale on December 12 for prices ranging between 500 and 2,500 dollars.

Jay-Z, 42, married to singer Beyonce , regularly engages in charitable initiatives, and this year gave a free concert to raise funds for victims of the attacks of 11-S in New York.
