The first star Marilyn Monroe perched on an auction in California

A collection of images from the first photo shoot was done by Marilyn Monroe star in an auction held on Friday by Julien's Auctions in Los Angeles where there were more than 300 articles on the famous Hollywood blonde.

The snapshots were taken by Joseph Jasgur when the actress was just 19 years old and was in the early stages of his career, even under the name of Jeane Dougherty.

He told Efe the executive director of Julien's Auctions, Martin Nolan, it was a bid unusual since in addition to photos of the day were auctioned negative and the right of ownership of images, some of which were acquired by more than $ 21,000.

The auction, however, it failed to find a buyer for the most valuable pieces who attended an arabesque style dress worn by the actress in 1958 for a photo shoot in which emulated the star of the film mute Theda Bara in the role of Cleopatra in 1917, and a brochure created for Monroe for photographer Cecil Beaton.

The suit was valued at between 200,000 and $ 300,000 and represented the Marilyn Monroe attempts to run for the Egyptian pharaoh's role in the film that was being developed in Hollywood and eventually starred Elizabeth Taylor in 1963.

The triptych, with an estimated price of between 80,000 and $ 100,000, had been in the room of the house of the actress until her death and was a gift and included Monroe's favorite photo and a letter from the author, Beaton, in which described his friend.

The object that hit more value in the event was a dress that sent more than $ 79,000 and led Monroe in the film "The Seven Year Itch" (1955).

Julien's Auctions will continue the auction during the weekend with memorabilia dedicated to icons of music and sports, such as The Beatles , Elvis, Michael Jackson or Joe DiMaggio.
